To add another complication, ~10ms latency or less is necessary for piano practicing.Īny ideas, or has anyone gotten close to getting Ivory working? I'm even considering buying something like else Ravenscroft 275 if there's any more luck of getting it working. But my main machine has 32GB of RAM and an i7 - getting things to run locally would be really ideal. Virtual machine? Second machine running Windows with its output routed back in through a USB sound card? I have a half decent old laptop sitting around that I could use for this. But, I'm willing to try just about anything. I'll be clear: I know this is very unlikely to work. (yabridge gives "0024:err:module:_wine_process_init failed to load", even in what I believe is the latest wine-staging.) I've been able to get the licenses transferred to the Linux machine, but am not able to run the VSTs themselves after trying Carla, LinVst and yabridge. #Build ardour 5.12 windows 10 code#Both use machine-based iLok, which is evidently working now in the latest wine-staging. Although when Ardour 5.11 was released, we expected a significant gap until 6.0 will be announced, enough notable features and fixes accumulated that it seemed better for us to push out a 5.12 release before we embark on the major code changes that will mark the real start of the development process for 6.0. I'd also really like to get EastWest Hollywood Orchestra working. I also got back into transcribing and messing around with composing in Reaper recently, and it's great, but I'd like to be able to use Ivory locally within Reaper as well. I play piano, and currently my instrument is just a midi controller, so I'm using Ivory for practicing, and rebooting into Windows every time. The only thing I keep a dual boot for, currently, is Synthogy Ivory II. I'd really like to get some proprietary VSTs running in Linux, rather than having to boot into windows, by any means necessary. I've been toying with this idea for a while, and it looks like the state of Linux audio is better than ever.
